The Design by R.S. Grey- Review

Five minutes until the interview begins.

Fresh on the heels of her college graduation, Cameron Heart has landed an interview at a prestigious architecture firm.

Four minutes until the interview.

She knows she’s only there because the owner, Grayson Cole, is her older sister’s friend.

Three minutes.

For the last seven years, Grayson has been the most intimidating man Cammie has ever had the pleasure, or displeasure, of being around.

Two Minutes.

But the job opportunity is too good to pass up. So, Cammie will have to ignore the fact that Grayson is handsome enough to have his own national holiday.

One.

After all, she shouldn’t feel that way about her new boss. And, he will be her new boss.

“I’m not intimidated by you,” I said with a confident smile.
“Perhaps we should fix that, Ms. Heart. Close the door.”

My Review

The DesignThe Design by R.S. Grey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have enjoyed many books by this author, and I enjoyed this as well. This book comes after The Duet, but this could easily be read as a stand alone. However, there are definite bonuses to having read The Duet since it is itself a great book, and we get to catch up a little with Brooklyn and Jason in this book.

In The Design, we get Cameron's story. She and her older sister, Brooklyn, had some rough experiences growing up, but they had each other. Cameron was interested in her older sister's friend Grayson from the first time they met, and even came to find her passion in architecture because of him. At the time Cammie was an adolescent, and Grayson an adult, but she felt some pretty intense feelings towards him. Now she is about to go and work for his incredibly successful architecture firm, and even though she finds Grayson intimidating and frustrating she can't help but be attracted to him. Everything is complicated by the fact that Grayson is her boss, and he admits that he is attracted to her, but won't be acting on it.

The way that Cammie and Grayson interact with one another is a little dysfunctional, and I couldn't imagine putting myself in Cammie's shoes and acting the same way, It sure was fun experiencing everything through her though. Cammie is bold and goes after what she wants. It was clear that even through some of Grayson's bad behavior, and Cammie's stunts that these two were going to have some explosive chemistry. Once these two gave in to their desires, I was really hoping they would find a way to make things work.

This wasn't my favorite book by this author, but mostly because of how much I have loved some of her other books.  I definitely enjoyed this though, and would recommend this to someone looking for a fun and sexy read.
