Embrace by S. Layne- Release Day Blitz with Review

EMBRACE
the affair series, book two
by Stacey Lynn writing as S. Layne

Liam Parker crash landed into Laurie’s life when everything else was crumbling all around her. Her marriage and career were in pieces and her mind was left spinning.
But one touch from Liam, and Laurie could forget everything else around her.
She thought she had it all figured out.
As Laurie lost herself in Liam’s warm caresses and his commanding blue eyes, her husband refused to go quietly into the night. While Laurie fought to move on, it was James who was working his way back into her life, fighting for the marriage they had once held dear.
Forced to make choices she never imagined having to make, Laurie finally found herself on firm footing, knowing which way she was going to turn.
But then life threw her another curveball. And when she once again began picking up the pieces, learning how to survive and rebuild after everything exploded, there was only one man still there, one man who remained by her side, showing her that sometimes life isn’t about learning how to survive…
It’s about learning how to thrive.

Embrace (The Affair, #2)Embrace by S. Layne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Liam and Laurie's physical connection is undeniable, but Liam kept some pretty serious secrets from Laurie that caused her life to change in drastic ways. She knows that she can't trust someone who has deceived her in this way. James is trying to do whatever he can to help Laurie understand how much he loves her and that he will do whatever he can to rebuild their relationship and trust.

Laurie is still reeling from the chaos her career and life was thrown into after she met Liam. She is dealing with her career situation when a family tragedy throws another challenge into her life. James is there to support Laurie in any way she will let him, and makes it clear that he will do whatever it takes to rebuild their relationship. Laurie begins to feel that maybe she and James could try to work towards reconciliation, and she finds that her attraction to him is still strong. The tougher part is the trust and dealing with all of the hurt. This story definitely comes with a lot of emotional highs and lows, but it feels real. Relationships can be tough in the best of times, but rebuilding a marriage after an affair can come with some pretty tough emotional tasks. It was encouraging to see Laurie and James work to be honest with one another and really try to find what needed to be done to move forward. I have enjoyed this series a lot, and have enjoyed other books by this author in the past. i will gladly read more of her work in the future.

S. Layne currently lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children. When she’s not conquering mountains of laundry and fighting a war against dust bunnies and cracker crumbs, you can find her playing with her children, curled up on the couch with a good book, or on the boat with her family enjoying Minnesota’s beautiful, yet too short, summer. She lives off her daily pot of coffee, can only write with a bowlful of Skittles nearby, and has been in love with romance novels since before she could drive herself to the library.
