Anguish (Jokers' Wrath MC #3) by Bella Jewel- Review!

Title: ANGUISH (Jokers' Wrath MC, #3)
Author: Bella Jewel
Release Date: October 27, 2014

Blurb

There are a lot of things in this world that are easy to escape from. Having a son you didn't ask for isn't one of them.

Mack is a nomad. He likes his own space and he struggles with emotion. His past is grey and his future looks about the same. That is until his ex-girlfriend dies and his son is handed over to him. A two month old baby he didn't know existed. Until now.

His world comes crashing down around him.

Desperate, he hires a nanny.

Jaylah has gotten herself into some serious trouble, so when she sees the job opening for a nanny pop up, she jumps on it. Of course she's not a nanny, but she figures she can pull it off. I mean, how hard can it be?

She's thrown into a world of diapers, hourly feedings and a whole lot of laundry. She's also introduced to the most rugged, gorgeous man she's ever had the pleasure of meeting.

The best part, he's the baby's father.

The worst part, he's a biker.

Their sexual tension is huge, but he's a hard nut to crack. She'll get in, though. She makes it her mission to break through the wall Mack has built so high around himself.

Her world is about to spiral out of control, and she's taking Mack along for the ride.

My Review:

Anguish (Jokers' Wrath MC, #3)Anguish by Bella Jewel
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jaylah got into some serious trouble in an attempt to get someone she once cared about out of trouble. She needs to get away, and make some money. She accepts the position as a full-time nanny despite having no qualifications because the pay is good and she will be living away from where her trouble can find her. Miakoda (Mack) has just found out that he is a father, and his ex-lover (the baby's mother) has died. He didn't want any of this, and can't imagine how he is going to handle his new life. The sexual tension between Jaylah and Mack is strong, but she doesn't want to mess up her employment situation, and Mack is only capable of cold sexual encounters.

I love this series, and this installment was no exception. We get to know a little about Mack in Melancholy, and know that there is a lot of pain in his past, but also that he is capable of fierce loyalty to those he considers family. Jaylah is a great character. She is who she is and doesn't hide that from anyone. She is quick to make friends, and will do anything for them once they are connected to her. She is straight forward and not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Watching Mack experience the feeling of finally connecting with someone on a romantic level was really heart-warming. There were a lot of challenges both characters had to deal with, but when the going got tough, they were there to support one another above all else. It was great to spend some more time with characters I came to care about in the previous books- namely Ash and Santana (although I'm always glad to see Krypt and Maddox as well). I can't wait for the next installment!
