Worth the Fight by L.D. Davis- Review

Worth the Fight (Accidentally on Purpose, #3)Worth the Fight by L.D. Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this 3rd book in the Accidentally on Purpose series we finally get Luke's story. This book really does need to be read after Accidentally on Purpose and Worthy of Redemption since it spans time periods of both stories, and in order to really get the full impact of this story it helps to know the other characters and situations.

My feelings about Luke changed and evolved throughout the first book, but by the end I was solidly on Team Luke and Emmy. Reading this book made me realize just how much of Luke's story I was missing. When I started, I expected to mostly have the pleasure of experiencing the stories again from a different angle. What I got was so much more. It was definitely interesting to see just what it was like for Luke to go through some of the major events that occurred during those first books, but we get a lot more as well. We really get to know who Luke is, and what everything was like for him. How he had to work hard to come to be the person we suspected he was all along. It was refreshing to see that Luke wasn't perfect and that he had some struggles along the way that we would not have known about without getting this perspective. I was also really pleasantly surprised at the length. it felt great to get to spend a good amount of time with Luke and Emmy again. Even though there are some rough emotions and situations to go through with them, it was great to re-connect with them as a couple and really see how their story evolved. If you have read the first two books in this series, then you won't need much of a push to pick this one up. The idea of spending time with Luke should be a pretty strong selling point.
