Pieces of Rhys by L.D. Davis- Book Blitz and Review

Pieces of Rhys Synopsis:

My name is Lindsey. I like extreme gardening, really good beer, obese cats, and my sexy, hot, delicious, yummy, melt in your mouth coworker Rhys. I don't like rude behavior (especially from obese cats), my abusive ex-husband Gary or his mother, and I don't like to share my toothbrush with even the likes of sex gods like Rhys.

Not too long ago, Rhys suddenly became aware of the fact that I am a real life, breathing and thinking woman. Being full-figured and short, I didn't think this would ever be possible. I mean, he's so hot, and while I'm not at all unattractive...it's just that he's so FINE. Normally, I don't think that male sluts are at all worthy of my attention, but under all of his booty calls and one nighters, Rhys is actually a very decent guy and I tend to forget - or at least forgive - the fact that he's a philanderer (even though the evidence of this is often a little too close for comfort). I know, you think I'm stupid, right? But he seems to really care for me, and I truly believe that there's some dark secret that keeps him from committing to me. So, if he can only give me pieces at a time until the truth is uncovered, so be it.

But will it cost me my heart in the end? Or something even worse?

My Review: Pieces of RhysPieces of Rhys by L.D. Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lindsey has been a little obsessed with her hot co-worker Rhys for a while. After some not-so-subtle eye stalking, she is caught by Rhys. Their mutual attraction is quickly realized, but Rhys starts to experience deeper feelings for Lindsey, and for his own reasons he doesn't feel he can have a relationship with anyone. Lindsey knows that falling for Rhys is not going to go well for her, but she can't seem to help herself. Both of them have some darkness in their pasts that pops up for them and challenges them in some pretty serious ways.

I loved Lindsey. She is pretty hilarious, and I liked how honest she was even through her awkward moments. She's been through some rough stuff, and I liked how strong she was despite all of it. Her family is a hoot too- especially her grandmother. It was nice to see them all take up for her when things were rough and support her in various ways.

Sometimes I struggled with Rhys. He was pretty hot and awesome, but I was frustrated with his behavior a lot of the time. I sort of guessed what he was trying to hide, and I kept hoping that he would get his act together for his and Lindsey's sake. Also I loved his cat.

I've read and enjoyed other books by this author, and I enjoyed this one a lot too. I will gladly read more from her in the future.
